Tried Verve for the first time tonight. I now have a new fine dining spot! Atmosphere was awesome, and from the minute we entered the door we were greeted with a friendly welcome. Once seated, our server Francis was quick to give us the run down on specials and drinks and for the rest of the night remained on her A game, and rocking it as a server. We started off with the Poached Pear salad which was incredible. The pear had just the right amount of red wine flavor without being too overpowering, and it complimented the vinagrette and salad very well, as well the blue cheese. Next wee had the Tuna/Hamachi Tartar, which was just out of this world. Every ingredient on the plate complimented each other perfectly and it was one of the best Tartars I’ve had after rolling around the fine dining circuit for 15 years. For dinner I had the Special (Confit of Duck Leg served with brussel sprouts, a sweet potatoe puree and a cherry demi glace (I believe?)) which was incredible from the first bite. The brussel sprouts, a vegetable I normally shy away from, were tender, juicy, and bursting with flavor, leaving me wanting for more! My fiance had the Rabbit with Cavatelli which was a big hit. Everything about this dish was incredible. The pasta, rabbit, and tomato, paired perfectly with the fennel and ricotta, and offered you a taste only a few restaurants in Europe could provide. We went a little out of the box and had a Malbec wine with the dish which acutally accompanied it quite well! For dessert, we had the creme brulee (you can never go wrong with this) and an Espresso (served correctly with lemon peel might I add, something alot of other high end restaurants forget!) which was the perfect ending to a great meal. All in all, this was just the experience needed to start off a Saturday night, and I am thankful to the staff at Verve Restaurant for being able to provide us with such! Can’t wait to return!! On a side note, although I server was as awesome as can be, I would also like to point out that the rest of the front of house staff were all very organized and always on the move to make sure that everyone was pleased and enjoying themselves. AAA+ guys!
